Talhouni & Co. is one of the most prestigious law firms in Jordan, tracing its roots back to the 90's. The firm was created and founded by H.E. Dr. Bassam Samir Al Talhouni, one of the elite lawyers in Jordan, a former Minister of Justice (in four different governments), a former Senator, a lecturer in law, and arbitrator. He is known for taking high stakes cases with impossible odds and getting extraordinary results. He is renowned for his advocacy skills and acts as counsel and arbitrator in local and international arbitration proceedings.
The firm started when H.E. Dr. Al Talhouni began to practice law in 1993. The firm changed its name on numerous occasions as different partners joined or left. During the 2000s Talhouni & Co. experienced rapid growth. The firm services clients in matters of corporate, bankruptcy, insurance, finance, M&A, construction, energy, labor and employment, local and international arbitration, and more general litigation, across various industries.
Haddadin law office was founded by Dr. Yazan Dakhlallah Haddadin, one of the most specialized bilingual lawyers in Jordan and the region in arbitration, in investment projects, and construction industry. He worked in London, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Jordan, and received his master’s degree in international law from Glasgow University and PhD in international commercial and investment arbitration from Warwick University both in the United Kingdom. He specializes in cross-border, multi-jurisdictional and complex international arbitration across a range of sectors with particular focus on construction, investment, transportation, and energy. He dedicates his time and work to serving as an advocate for those with highly complex matters and disputes. He worked on a number of the most iconic projects in the Middle East including Dubai Metro expansion for Expo 2020 a project valued over US$ 3Bn. He was also involved in large number of arbitration cases advising on commercial, construction and investment disputes.
In October 2021 Talhouni & Co. and Haddadin law office announced the completion of their unity and the full merge. “Today is truly an historic occasion as we mark the combination of two successful firms,” said H.E. H.E. Dr. Al Talhouni serves as the firm’s senior partner while Dr. Haddadin serves as managing partner for the firm. Dr. Haddadin, noted that the combination’s progress from planning to completion was a smooth one. “It is evident that the time, energy and resource we have devoted to planning for this day have resulted in a smooth transition across the board, everything we hoped to achieve with this launch was developed as expected,” he said.
